Boston Beer Co. Pays $55 Million for Former Diageo Plant
Boston Beer Co., the brewer of Sam Adams, closed on its purchase of the former Diageo North America brewery in Breinigsville, PA. The $55 million price includes all buildings, land and brewery equipment.

Diageo owns popular liquor brands like Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker and Captain Morgan, and Irish beermaker Guinness.

The 650,000-square-foot facility was built in 1972 at 7880 Stroh Drive, in the Lehigh Valley. Boston Beer will resume brewing at the property later this year.

Both parties handled the deal in-house.
