“Tow To Go” is a partnership between AAA Auto Club South and Budweiser. The program has been running since New Year’s Eve 1998 thanks to the creative and caring insight of one Sarasota area tow truck operation-Sam’s Towing.
Everyone is responsible for preventing drinking and driving, and AAA and Budweiser take this charge very seriously. Since New Year’s Eve 1998 AAA Tow Truck Drivers have responded to more than 7,000 calls from impaired drivers who needed help getting home.
Budweiser helps fund the program, train servers not to over serve and get the message to the most at risk drivers at bars and restaurants. Over the past 10 years , the program has expanded and is now available throughout Florida and in metropolitan Atlanta, Savanna and Nashville.
“One of the biggest reasons drinking and driving occurs is people say they don’t want to leave their cars at the bar” says John Saputo President / Owner of Budweiser/Gold Coast Eagle Distributing “Tow to Go is an important program because it is the only one that really takes the excuse out of impaired driving – it takes both the driver and their car home”
The program currently run on all major holidays (you can check the calendar under entertainment for service dates). I personally would like to see this program expanded to year round and though out the country.
